Homemade Apple Carrot Dog Cookies
Chef Kota's Apple Dog Cookies
Focus on physical heart health with treats like my Apple Carrot Dog Cookies. They're yummy snacks that have nutrients and fiber to help us get through long, active days.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 apple (with peel), cored and grated
- 1/2 cup carrots peeled and grated
- 1 egg beaten
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ cup water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350.
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and grease using butter or cooking spray.
- Beat the egg and add oil in a medium bowl; mix until combined.
- Core and grate apple into the egg mixture.
- Peel and grate carrots into the egg mixture.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, oats, and cinnamon. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients bowl and mix completely. Add the ¼ cup of water if needed.
- Two options: Roll the dough into 1” balls and place on cookie sheet. -or- Roll out dough and cut with desired cookie cutter.
- Bake for 40 minutes.
- After biscuits cool, feel free to share with the pups in your life! Store in air-tight container.
- Serving size: makes 20-24 small dog biscuits.
